Millionaire McCormick to run for Senate again. Why voters should re-elect Bob Casey instead.
Hedge Fund Manager Dave McCormick Considers 2024 Senate Run in Pennsylvania: Just Another Republican Offering the Same Failed Policies and Fear-Mongering.
With the 2024 Senate primary election in Pennsylvania just over a year away, notorious Connecticut millionaire hedge fund manager, Dave McCormick, is considering running against Senator Bob Casey (D-PA). McCormick, a Republican, is attempting to present himself as a political outsider with a vision for the country's future, but in reality, he represents the same failed policies that have been damaging the middle class for decades. McCormick lost the Republican nomination in 2022 to Dr. Mehmet Oz by just 900 votes.
McCormick is hosting parties for political insiders and hiring campaign aides to run a campaign against Senator Casey. He has also released a new book, Superpower in Peril, which weaves together his biography, his experience campaigning for the 2022 Republican U.S. Senate nomination in the state, and his policy prescriptions for the country. Aka, the kind of project someone might undertake before an election year if they want to be on the ballot.
McCormick claims the book was largely written before he ran for the Senate last year and finished second to Mehmet Oz in the GOP primary. But he is openly acknowledging the idea that he might run again next year, to seek the party's nod against Senator Casey.
McCormick's campaign is unlikely to be anything more than a side hobby. As a millionaire hedge fund manager, McCormick's interests lie primarily in protecting the interests of the wealthy and corporate elite. The policies he advocates will continue to enrich the few at the expense of the many, and his campaign will be nothing more than a vanity project.
Voters should reject McCormick's candidacy and instead re-elect Senator Casey. Senator Casey has a long track record of standing up for working families, promoting policies that help create good-paying jobs, and fighting for access to affordable healthcare. In contrast, McCormick is a typical Republican millionaire who is more interested in protecting the interests of the wealthy than in helping working families.
The choice is clear. We can either re-elect Senator Casey and continue to promote policies that support the middle class, or we can elect another Republican millionaire who will use the Senate as his little side gig to further enrich himself and his wealthy friends.
The good people of Pennsylvania should stand with working families and re-elect Senator Casey in 2024.
